lets say you set bevel on 4k norton. would be able to go staright into a pyramid ?
using 4k 8k . what number of laps would you start at ?

i would imagine once bevl is set at 4k you should easily be able to shave arm hair . you could finish on 25 laps on 8k and probably test shave . or you coulsd go into pyramid starting at say 15/15 or 10/10? and so on?

If the bevel has been set on a 4K I would then perform 10-15 laps on the 8K and test the edge. If necessary then I would start at 10/10, 5/10, 3/10, 1/10, 1/10. Testing frequently.
If another round is necessary then start at 5/10, 3/10, 1/10,1/10.
    Testing frequently
If another round is necessary the start at 3/10, 3/10, 1/10, 1/10

By this stage you will have developed a feel for the rate of change occurring with your razor/stone combination.

The use of the number 10 for the 8K stone is for a medium hardness/toughness razor. Adjust the number to suit your razor/stone. The range for me is 5 to 25 .

    Hope this helps,
