    Red face Limited success...

After almost 6 months in this new hobby, i was finally able to hone my e-bay special sharp enough to comfortably shave the stubble on my cheeks. But when it comes to the stubble on my chin, it starts to pull and is very uncomfortable. I used a 60x magnifier to check for nicks and I could find any.

Should I go back to the C12 or Naniwa 8000 for a touch-up???

If you're happy that the bevel's there, I'd try 10 laps on the Nani, followed by 20-30 on the Chinese. Keep the touch so light that you wonder if there's any point. Strop & try it. If there's no improvement, maybe consider getting a paddle with CrO to squeeze that extra from the edge that you need.

I find that the quality and sharpness of the edge is established on the bevel setting hone. Everything else after that is just working towards polishing the edge, especially w/ most EBay finds. I would suggest going back to the bevel setter and doing circles followed by x strokes until the edge is as sharp as you like it for the entire length of the blade. Every hone after that should be used just to reduce the scratch pattern. Circles on the hones up to 8k followed by say 10 x strokes on each hone prevents wire edge. Good luck.
