This is used to slaughter cattle used for Kosher meats. It is about 18" long. There is a smaller 6" version for chickens. The superior edge, not unlike our straight razors was designed for one simple fast movement and an instant realatively humane kill as required by Jewish law for a meat to be considered Kosher.
