Thanked: 62Thiers Issard white paste
Does anybody know the micron measurement of the Thiers Issard paste? I have some and am wondering where it fits into the progression.

Thanked: 286they say its 10,000 grit similar to that of japaneese hone at 10k level. i use it after coticule . and it works great leaves a soft smoopth sharp edge and is great for touch ups . if you want only one paste then you have it. i find its works perfect on canvas h/strop, tryed paddles and did'nt work as well for me . give it a go you can use it after any finishing hone just 10 to 20 laps pull strop real tight. i've heard fokes say its a gressive it seems that way as the compound turns black pritty quik , but real the edge is not agressive its very smooth.

Danricgro,
+1 on Garys' comments.
The TI Pate gives a very nice, smooth edge.
The Pate itself is a bit of a pain to apply; it is very hard and has a tendency to clump together like eraser crumbs, and if you apply to much, it leaves the strop surface quite sticky.
Others have noted that heating both the Pate stick and the strops helps the application.
As Gary has said, it is at is best on woven materials; I applied mine to an SRD cotton web strop, and it has performed very well
If you apply it to leather, I would suspect that the non-smooth side would work best, though my experince with the Pate on leather has been less than stellar !
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ
