Thanked: 39How true. Some of these razors can be a real challenge.
I would hone those micro chips out of the blade. I have a 30x loup that has really helped me see what is going on when I work on the edge.
Those cheap Radio shack scopes are too hard for me to use.

Thanked: 3795Apparently part of me is still in 5th grade because I smirked when I read this.
If at all possible, try to avoid putting pressure on the flat of the blade. Though it may help you reach a part of the edge that you are missing, that uneven pressure is going to create other trouble with the edge. You are better off using a stroke that will allow you to reach the full length of the blade, even if this requires correcting the spine or the bevel, or using tape.
