Troubleshooting a problem blade
Hello everyone,
With help from lots of posts, a few hard lessons, and input from genuine honemeisters, I put this little guide together.
My main idea was to develop something to help people understand what some common blade problems might look like and how to deal with them. While I did this in order to learn a lot myself, I also created this with some specific purposes:
- Help with identifying some common problems with a blade.
- Present some basis for honing theory, and some remedies for these blade problems.
- Present useful graphical representations that are not subject to poor camera angles, lighting, or resolution that could give someone an incorrect understanding of a problem.
This is sure to get edits as time goes on, and there are certainly huge oversights on my part, but for now I hope it's useful to someone looking for this kind of info.
So, until I figure out how to link this under the honing section of the wiki (yeah, I am still learning wiki stuff ) here is a link *oh, and it is a bit of a long read... sorry*

That's really great. Did you do the animations? Very helpful to see it in motion.

I just took a quick look-through, I need to get to sleep, but that's a super resource, and I love the animations. Thanks.
