Thanked: 7Success!
Success at last!
My razor was becoming an uncomfortable shave, and I been needing to much pressure (A very little amount of course). So i have a 12k grit stone, and have been using it for a little while, doing O.K with it ( my razor hasn't been able to pass the hanging hair test since i got it a few months ago).
So last night I spent some quality time with the stone and strop... Now my razor is almost as sharp as when i got it! It passes the hanging hair test and shaved my arm hair no problem! This is a very first for me and was very fulfilling! I cant wait to shave tomorrow morning to really see how I did! Very excited!
All made possible thanks to everyone here
Thank you every body for valuable info

Thanked: 3795Awesome!
Now go out and cut down a tree with an ax, shoot yourself an animal, cook it with fire from wood from that tree, and go find yourself a woman to drag back to your cave, 'cuz you are a man!

Thanked: 3795Seriously though, congrats!
Somehow it is just so very satisfying to be able to make your own razor sharp enough to shave yourself. It's a very primal feeling that somehow would not be replicated by making your own toothbrush or comb.
