Default Careful Honing = Great Shave

Well, Monday morning came and it was time for the next razor in my rotation. I use one for a week at a time. This week's pick was my Revisor with her beautiful re-scale job done by Undream at the Michigan meet last summer. The shave was rough, pulled a bit and gave a passable shave. Tuesday, I put a little more care into the stropping and made little difference, as I expected but thought it was worth the try. Yesterday, I decided to hone her up. I did a somewhat elaborate pyramid and I must admit, I was a little rushed. TERRIBLE shave! Today, I decided I'd do it right. Taking the proper care, I gave her 5 strokes on my 4K and about 10 or 12 on my 8K, followed by a few strokes on the balsa wood with CroOx. Followed up with normal stropping and came away with a BBS shave. It pays to give the job the time and effort due.
