Thread: What does it mean when

one side of the razor's bevel is higher than the other side? Does that make sense? Okay, good. What does it indicate I am doing?

Higher? Like.... the bevel runs to the edge on one side but not the other?

Or one side has more hone wear than the other?

If not, I don't understand the question.

Or the bevel is _wider_ on one side of the blade, than on the other?

Ok, if bevel sides are uneven you can make them even if you want but it may not be needed. If the bevel cuts hair well that that's ok and try sharpening grit.

This is kind of like when Lincoln was goaded to mock Douglas for his short stature, especially his short legs. Lincoln replied that as long as they reached the ground, they were likely to be long enough. As long as the bevel reaches to the edge, it's a good bevel.

My apologies for the thread highjack........

Joking aside, as long as the bevel reaches all the way to the edge, that is all that matters.

I actually was wondering this myself as sometimes one side of the blade the bevel is wider than the other. I usually just make sure it has a bevel the length of the razor and can shave arm hair coming off the DMT 1200.
