Thanked: 0Who Hones in the U.K?
Hey,
Thought i'd post here, so that someone would see it, but does anyone have a recommendation for someone who hones in the UK? I looked on the classifieds, and contacted a guy called Gary, but couldn't get a reply, and there's hardly anyone else, so i figured I'd ask here if any knows a trusted honemeister in the UK. I'm new to honing, and I want to learn it properly, although I have a norton waterstone, I want someone to set my Dovo straight first of all.
cheers!

Neil Miller gets my personal recommendation, and there's also The Invisible Edge whose service I haven't used, but their reputation is good.

Welcome to SRP. +1 on Neil, and Steve Dempster of the Invisible Edge. I have no personal experience with Neil's honing but I've read many posts singing his praises. Steve (blue principle on SRP) honed a couple of TI razors I bought from him and they are exceptional. Gary Haywood is in the UK and I hear he knows his way around a hone as well. I don't know if he offers the service though.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Third vote for Gary Haywood, had two super hones from him very reasonbly priced and pretty quick, pretty strange he hasn't answered your email, he must be busy

Thanked: 13247Besides all the excellent recommendations above you really should take a look at this thread
http://straightrazorpalace.com/get-t...orcon-its.html
If you can make it to a Meetup or RazorCon by all means attend... One or two days there will teach you more than you can learn in 6 months of reading...
