I do, gets me a slightly less harsh edge.

Thanked: 286i think its personal choice, i would of of thought after such a fine stone the edge should be very smooth. And not need any paste. thats the case with my coticule.

I dont have an Asagi but I do have a Maruichi, and my J-Nat basically rendered my pasted strops redundant!
I just go right from the stone to my daily strop and the shave is awesome.

+1 If it’s good one. Finish on the Asagi with final H2O only pass very light 7 to 12 stokes. Should be very light strokes H2O only. Did I say very light strokes? Think of a feather. Be one with the feather. That light of a stroke. That's how Sham taught me.
Depends on the razor steel too. You can do a few passes on the CrOx if you want. Light passes. Feather thing again. I'm at work and I need more coffee. It’s a personal preference. Hope this helps.
