    Default damage water stone

I feel stupid, I got a steal on a water stone and I think I manage to damage it (if I recall well) by throwing on the bed when I was cleaning up my bedroom. It's a Norton 4000/8000 grit, the case got plastic spacer on one side and rubber studs on the other side the edge of the 4000 (where's the plastic bars both extremities) got chipped on the edge. There's 2 chips each side at 1 1/2 or 2 inch from the extremities.

I though maybe I could slant the edges like it already is a the extremities edges? How would you do this? thanks folks.

Btw, I honed my blade straight instead of using the X pattern... duh. I might have to re do it.

Sand out the chips using sandpaper or a belt sander if the chips are on the edges.

If it is the corner itself that is chiped, you should chamfer the edge on DMT or 220 sandpaper. While your at it chamfer all the way around and it will prevent damage to blade while honing. No problem at all as this it what most of us do to our stones.
