    If it's passing the HHT how about just shaving with it after stropping.

    because that is not sharp enough to give me a comfortable shave in some areas.

    Don't give up on the coticule. If you are using a light touch and the "X" pattern. and it still drags, try it with no slurry, just water. It could also be that the edge was not honed fine enough on the 8K before it went to the coticule. The coticule will "transmit" the roughness it encounters.
    Strop during the shave after heating the blade under hot water and drying quickly with a dry soft towel. Sometimes the blade is sharp enough but not applied correctly during shaving. For me the change in direction of the shaving strokes changed an otherwise O K shave into a truely great shave.
