Gary do you get a massive case of stiction on the hybrid side where the blade actually stops or wants to with no pressure even and you have to force it along when under water?

yes i newster get a lot of sticky ness but for some reason it has calmed down with use . i'd give it a real good lapping. i get a magnetic feel still. and the odd judger. i think it due to doing so many laps with back and forth strokes,

The more strokes I do with a razor the worse it gets. It starts out almost non existant and by 50or 75 strokes its pretty intense.

The hybrid side is the opposite of the yellow side. It would be bbw on a normal Coti.

So is the "hybrid side" a generic term for the side opposide the coticule, or does it imply that it is a mixture of BBW and coticule (which is what that photo looks like to me). Or is it something else?

That terminology is specific to the marbled side of a les latnueses strata coticule because it's not entirely clear what it is. It appears to be a hybrid between BBW and coticule, thus, it's referred to as the hybrid side.

Gary I have lapped mine several times for quite a while at each sitting.I hate to rough it up. It gets smooth as glass and I can see reflections off of it in the light.I would like to use a lubricant maybe but I am afraid it will seep in through the sides and cause harm over time.
