Thread: First successfull honing

Good Morning to all. I am new here. I was wondering if anyone has had success stropping on wood. I have read a few posts about balsa wood being used as a final step in the process. I also read about using a piece of maple. I recently purchased a piece of maple and applied 3um, 1 um and .25 um pastes. Still in search of a good shave unfortunately!
