    Default Honing guide for straight razors?

    Hi,
    Would it be a good idea to make a honing guide that atttaches to the spine of 6/8+ straight razors to keep the angle fixed and around 17 degrees during honing? Thanks.

    The spine serves as a guide, and each razor comes with one already installed.

    Ace is right on the $$$. You can increase the angle a bit and decrease the spine wear by adding a layer of vinyl (electrical) tape to the spine if you wish...but no need for jigs or contraptions.
