    Default Vintage coticule??

One of the now disused coticule quarries was called the Old Rock. However there are more rocks called the Old Rock.

Can anyone tell me whether this hone is a vintage coticule?

I may bid on it if you guys think it is worth it.

    Kees,
It does not look like a Coticule to me and I suppose it was clever old time marketing to use the popular "Old Rock" name. It appears to be a standard barber hone but I cannot be sure. I recently sold a 2 x 4 Escher that came in a carboard barber hone type box but carried the E & Co. label and Water Hone name. Under microscope inspection it was clearly an Escher packaged for a barber supply company. I have an Escher here in a Sears box along with the escher logo and a separate rubbing stone (not for sale <g>) so many of these were marketed through regualr chanels.
