Thread: Wedge's how to hone ?

I couldn't find a search mode on SRP to learn how to work aroung Wedge honing, I need some tutorial, a little learning up, some info, well, you'all get the idea. Is there a thread link some one could provide or a few tips on this process??

i hope some MOD's will remove this post to honing . in there it will get more attention.
Basically honing is same until you have some smile etc or true wedge which you will end up taping the spine.

Sorry, I have dial up so the video won't do me any good, takes 2 hours to download a couple of minutes of video!! My fault.

Have you ever read Lynn Abrams on honing in the SRP Wiki here ? There are a number of specific tips that Lynn gives on honing a wedge within the article. Not sure what your setup is but if it lends itself to pyramid honing there are two tutorials on that in the Wiki. Also the rolling x if your wedge has a radical smile or a warped spine.

Some guys do better with tape on the spine on wedges, some even use three layers. Honing a wedge is like honing anything else only moreso since you have more steel to remove to get to the V you're looking for.

I also have a slow dial-up but I have downloaded many videos at SRP. Start your download and the go mow the lawn, wash the Corvette or go flirt with the neighbor -lady while it downloads.

As someone already suggested, if it is a full wedge, add some tape and start honing.

Dial-up is a pita but ........... just do it.

I thank you one and all for your suggestions and help, I am headed for WIKI right now and will re-read a lot of what I have read before and look at just the Wedge honing info.
