Thanked: 235Just wanted to share the pain
I have the day off today so I decided to do some honing. This is a big WB the celebrated hollow ground. Under magnification I found this line and honed a little more. The chip at the edge disappeared but the line was still there. So I flipped it over and in the same place was a similar line.
It's cracked and I think at the end of its life.

This razor has a huge crack. I am afraid it is a goner or you have to grind the crack out if at all possible.

Thanked: 235I think it is destined for the razor grave yard that is ebay. Perfect edge, just needs a little honing.
Just joking.

i have exactly same issue.
This is what happen .Razor is near wedge blade. i never assumed blade could have crack.
when i start to hone it i notice something is just doesn't look right.
Took the blade to 100x magnification and saw the clear crack app 1/8 size.
Now the best to do is this.
Go head sharpen make it shave ready and shave test. See what happens.
will you feel pulling, etc.
this is what i think you are looking 100x --150x mag. Crack well could be so small you even don't feel while you shave?
this is just one option.

I agree with Sham, if it is a wedge, it may not make any difference because of the thickness of the blade. a full hollow on the other hand with plenty of flex sounds like a problem.
