Default Used the .5 chromium oxide spray and made it worse

I should start this with, I've only been using a SR for 4 months now. Haven't honed anything, but I haven't needed to, until about a month ago. I noticed that my razors were beginning to pull a little so I bought/used the .5 chromium oxide spray on a felt paddle and the result was excellent! I was feeling pretty good about myself and thought this was pretty easy, what are people complaining about! Fast forward a few weeks - I noticed the razors were beginning to pull again, so I went back to the oxide for a few passes; only this time, the results were terrible! It actually made them worse! They went from a slight pull to barely cutting and BBS was out of the question.

I used the same felt w/spray without applying a new coat of spray. I added another coat last night and I'm going to give it another try tonight, but does anyone have advice or a thought on what I did wrong?

It's possible you miscued with either the pasted strop or your daily one and dulled the edge slightly.

Or used too much pressure on either strop. When you go next touch up just try 10 very light passes on the pasted strop then strop as normal and again keep the pressure very light.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks! I did that and it worked. It's still not where it needs to be, but it was much better so I'm going to repeat your steps once more! Thanks!
