Thread: Hone in DFW area?

Hey guys,

Is there anyone that will hone a razor in the DFW? I'm sure there is, but I'm new to the area. And what is the average price for that service?

Others should chime in but you may want to contact Jockey's. He may know someone in the area and I know he hones his own razors. I am not sure if he would be willing to hone up someone else's though, I don't want to throw him under the bus on this one.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was really looking for a shop that would do it. I wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone for just a quick hone. It's not in too bad condition from what I can tell. I'm new to strait razors and bought it "shave-ready" from the classifieds. It probably was for them, but my beard and especially my mustache is pretty thick, the latter extremely so. So, I just need it touched up, hopefully... Don't know a whole lot about the honing process.

I only know of Larry at Whipped Dog, but I will certainly keep an eye on this thread as I am in the South Ft Worth area and wouldnt mind knowing this information as well.

Thanks, I went to see Larry and ended up buying another razor and having it honed.

No problem. I actually went and saw Larry yesterday and ended up doing the exact same thing! Haha

Got my new razor and it's great. Larry is a great guy and I will continue to do business with them.

Congrats! Im still waiting on mine. Im starting to get antsy, especially with everyone getting theirs in and saying how good they are.
