Thanked: 240Wow, a face to face with the famed Lynn Abrams. You are a lucky guy, I am sure that all of us who use and enjoy the magic that is SRP would love nothing more than to be able to thank the guy the made it possible in person. Let us know how the shave goes. It looks like you've been a member for a while but haven't yet developed SRPCD (that's might be a new one coined be me "Straight Sazor Place Compulsion Disorder"). Hopefully now that you've met the godfather you'll be around more.

I was lurking in the chat area kind of feeling like I was spying on people and Lynn said hi and asked me how my shaving was going and was very helpfull in a chat with me. I thanked him for starting SRP and I told him what a great place it was and he told me it is great not because of him but because of the great people and members that are here. I hope to be able to meet him one day and thank him in person as I have been able to meet a few of the members here and do that for the help they have given me but I bet he wont take any credit for it then either. Thanks again Lynn.

When i had my late grandfathers razor honed by Lynn (my first straight) i wrote him a note, telling him about the razor, and i put my phone # on the note if he had any questions. Three days later i got a phone call from Lynn and we had a nice chat, what a gentleman!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never had the pleasure of meeting Lynn in person but I've had a lot of telephone time with him. He is free with his information on how to achieve great edges, clean up old razors and anything else I've asked. If it had not been for Lynn Abrams starting this forum many years ago I would still be using safety razors. A great guy AFAIC. I've also got quite a few razors that Lynn has honed and there are none better IME.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Gentlemen:
Ah yes: Lynn Abrams.
I have never met Lynn, but we have had many telephone and e-mail conversations. Sometime before fall I will pay him a visit in Cape Girardeau, MO.
I consider him my friend, teacher and honemeister.
To me, he is the noble Lynn Abrams.
Regards,
Obie

Lynn is THE MAN! He and I had a recent deal and he went above and beyond my expectations! He is a true gentleman and seems to truly want us all to have an enjoyable experience not only while on SRP, but with shaving in general. Good guy, plain and simple!
