Thanked: 2Getting razor honed
Hi guys. I have a near-new dovo factory sharpened razor (2nd razor) and I've tried honing it several times with no success really and it seems like no matter what I do or how I hold the blade (30 degree angle, etc) the blade still tugs on the hair without slicing. Is there anywhere I can send this blade to have it honed professionally? And is it much easier to re-hone a blade after it has been professionally honed first? Thanks.

You can look in the classifieds for that. There's plenty of experienced members who provides such a service for a small fee.
You could also send it out to Straighrazordesigns.com, where Lynn Abrams himself will be honing it.
I have experienced edges from several of those guys and believe you me, the can sure put a killer edge on that Dovo of yours
Good luck with it!Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

I have either purchased razors from, or had razors honed by several SRP members. I've always been
satisfied with the results.
I suggest that you view the "Member Services" section and choose someone you know, or perhaps
someone near you. The best of all would be to meet one of them in person and maybe get some
one-on-one honing instruction.
Good luck.

Please check the classifieds and seek "member services".

After you get your razor professionally honed, there is no reason to re-hone it. You can maintain its edge with regular stropping. If that doesn't keep the edge up after a bunch of shaves, a Barber's Hone will get your edge back in shape without having to go through the entire honing process.
