    Default Arkansas "Fine" stone

    Hello. is it ok you use and arkansas fine stone to set a bevel?

    Yes, provided it is lapped flat. It may take a long time though.

    Think days, not strokes. Arkies will give a very keen edge, but are VERY slow cutting. The thought of bevel setting with one requires adult beverage. Finishing on oil, after an 8k stone was a 200 stoke effort.

    you can try it with some slurry say coticule and dilution, or if you have a tomonagura with dilution, that might speed up the process significantly.
