Thanked: 1936The answer is: Does it shave good?
I'm starting to learn the high magnifications...looks like there wasn't enough time spent on middle and especially the finishing stones. I say this because of all of the deeper scratches. Chinese stones are very slow cutters and require many passes. Bevel appears to have been set well. What stones did you use and how did you use them?Last edited by ScottGoodman; 06-03-2011 at 09:20 PM.

Your 'pre-stropping' picture doesn't have the necessary detail to make any conclusion.
I'm willing to bet money that the 'microteeth' are right there and weren't created by the strop.

Was this perfect edge validated with a shave test?
It is possible that the strop added a degree of polish
that made some of the micro scratches visible. Prior
to stropping they might have been invisible in a general
softness that natural hones can give.
The only test is the shave test. All the others
are at best hints, tricks and tools in making a second razor just
like that your previous perfect shaver.
