czek Rozsutec stones

Hi, everybody, Do you know Rozsutec stones? I tink it' smilar to belgian Blue stones.
I found it on www.dick.biz, and they tell me "The Rozsutec-Stones are about 6000 Grits"
Since it's very cheap, and here in Italy is very difficult to find norton 4k-8k, i was tinking to buy one of those czek stones.


For finishing sharpening, what else I need?

A Barber hone like this?

A strop with a buffing compound?

A finer Stone?

Welcome aboard. For finishing I'd recommend a Belgian coticule or a thuringen. They would be a natural step up from 6000 and they would give you a great edge. They stones and the shipping must be dirt-cheap in the EU

I know a few for belgian stone, but they are still very expensive, over 100 euros

Any source for Thuringen stone? I know this is a really good stone.

I would go for the 2nd one the " Natural Whetstone " the pricing is pretty good for the 8"x2", just check the shipping though...

It is supposed to be a Thuringen comparable to the ones sold elsewhere, not sure of the exact grit...read some of the threads here on them..

The first one is probably not a Belgian stone. I have two stones that look like that and they are not Belgian.

The second one might be a Thuringen but maybe it is not.
If it is then it is probably between 6000 and 8000 grit.

I would buy the second one and then buy a paddle strop pasted with abrasive pastes. The 1.8 boron carbide and the 0.5 micron chrome oxide pastes from www.handamerican.com
would be my choice.

I think on a German site I read they are similar to Arkansas stones.
