This is the link I referred to earlier. It is in English, contrary to what I wrote before: http://www.scythesupply.com/articles...sharpening.htm

    Thumbs up

Rozsutec is Slovakian stone, here I can buy it for about 3 euro in Slovakia. I hone my razors on it and its finer than 6000. I have a small Coti and i use Rozsutec, because I like it.

Just my opinion: I'm not fond of a stone that's approximately 6000 grit. It's too fine to be a sharpener and not fine enough to be a finisher. I'd recommend something around 4k, either a natural (BBW) or a synthetic (naniwa, shapton, etc...)

Progressions need to accomplish a few things. They needto set a bevel (1k), then they must sharpen (4k), then they must polish (8k), and then they can finish (12k+). these approximate grits are only a guideline.

Again, there are plenty of opinions on progressions, so I encourage you to read and ask around.

Rozsutec is a very hard stone and its hard to flatten it.Grit of a Rozsutec depends of finesse of lapping.I have flattened it with 2000 grit sandpaper. In Slovakia you cant buy it on internet, just in shops. Here is link from Czech republic-http://www.cestadreva.cz/page/obchod/prirodni-brusne-kameny
Rozsutec is not very good to use with oil. It is a type of stone you should use with a shaving lather or with water with soap in rate 1:1.

I've used a Rozsutec and although it didn't produce the nicest bevel I've seen with my USB microscope it was clearly finer than my Guangxi. It's obviously not 6k but an ok finisher.

If you can get these for 3 euro you could get a couple for the classifieds. For the price they make decent finishers imo. Would be fine for beginning honers and fun to have for collectors

I do not understand the silence on this thread. I think Rozsutec seems like an interesting stone, and very good for a poor single parent

I will order one these days and say thank you to Rotavator for his advice
