Default Honing "touch up" with Chromium oxide note

On a hunch, I made a slurry of chromium oxide with camellia oil. I did this on a "chinese" water stone.

the razor had began become just too dull for a comfortable shave...

to make a long story short, this worked extremely well.

This worked very well, in a very short time..

I gave stroked her until the green oil was completely removed with each stroke (maybe 10 passes), then took it to the strop, then & then got an excellent shave.

It sure is better than the water stone alone!

    Hope this helps,

    Kirk

Put your oil Crox mixture onto balsa and let it dry. Then, after your chinese hone, do 20x laps on the balsa and you will have the same result without the clean up. And your CrOx will last much longer, because it will not have to be reapplied to the balsa for a long time.
