    Kees,
I have one of these. I was in Lancaster in the spring (45 minutes from home) and picked one up at Country Knives along with two long discontinued TI razors they had picked up.

I have not tried the hone yet but it comes with a small rubbing stone thatlooks just like an unglazed, tiny bathroom tile. The hone is 2 sided and comes with instructions on using the rubbing stone and a warning not to let it sit in hot, direct sunlight as there is something in it that will make the surface break down. I suppose this was formulated to work like a Belgian or Escher in which you want a slurry to form.

I will be back up there in September.

I am a bit worried about things that do not tolerate direct sun light. Usually that means there is some chemical that desintegrates anyway, as desintegration is accelerated by sunlight and heat.
I personally feel a hone is something for a lifetime and should not desintegrate. So unless everybody who has used it is ecstatic about it, it is not a thing for me.

Water evaporates in direct sunlight. Beer doesn't fare so well in direct sunlight either.

I have no plans of giving up either.

I won one of these on Ebay and have been using it for some time. It's one of my favorites and makes a really smooth edge. I had no idea there was supposed to be a rubbing stone (the ad says it's for cleaning). I've been using the stone dry and it does a great job. The smooth side is velvety.

The new Shapton GlasStones have the same warning. I wouldn't worry too much about. I do all my honing indoors, away from bright sunlight.

    Default Super Punjab hone

I have a Super Punjab that I bought from Success Barber Supply in Moravia, Iowa about 30 years ago. It is a two sided hone.

I seldom use it as I also bought a Moravian hone which i find to be a bettter hone for touch ups.

I have one and It works great. I like the size of them at 2.5x4". I requested Maurice Cellis cut a coticule for me of the same measurements as I found it handy for circular honing.

The punjab though works well. I
    d reccomend them. MikeB
