I leave mine all out on the cookie sheet that I hone on. I do give them a rubdown when wetting before each use, though, just to make sure no grit floats onto them (dust, dirt, etc).

Thanked: 23Most of my stones have untreated cedar boxes so they keep the stones dry and prevent mould, the ones without boxes i wrap in cheese cloth with prevents chipping and allows the stone to breath so they stay dry and mould free

Hello.
I use Shapton Pro ...
After grinding washed, cleaned with a clean cloth. I keep a box in which they are delivered.
Sincerely,
Alexander

EarthDawn,
My Naniwas and Norton 4/8 go back into their original containers when dry.
I keep my DMTs, Cotis, BBW & other naturals in KlipLok plastic boxes lined with bubble wrap (these boxes are similar to Tupperware boxes, and have a hermetic seal).
I always make sure that all the hones are dry before packing them away.
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

My Norton is dried and goes back in the original plastic box that it came in and the chinese 12k gets dried and put back into the orginal cardboard box. Both are stored in a draw in the shed.

I leave them out to dry for a bit and then stow them in a cupboard back in their boxes.
