It sounds like you know how to use strops, so getting a second strop set up for paste or CrOx sounds like a great idea. I would not add paste to the daily strop, but an old one works great for paste.
Alternatively, a barber's hone, or perhaps a finishing hone like a naniwa 12k or a PHIG could perhaps do you well.

You can use a leather strop, no problem. Before you run into problems, check this wiki article on how to apply pastes to strops.
Second, this article will learn you all you didn't know you wanted to know about all kinds of pastes.
I think the Chrome Oxide would be your best bet for a pasted strop, but there are diamond sprays of various grits and what else have you. CrOx will work fine tho. Note you can also use CrOx on balsa wood, that solution wouldn't break any bank.
Best of luck.

Thanked: 2209A separate leather paddle strop with 0.5 micron Chrome Oxide would be a good starting point.

This all depends on how dull the razor has gotten. If the bevel was rounded for whatever reason you will need something lower than paste or a finishiing stone. Barbers hones work well but their results leave a 6kish edges which isn't enough for me. The norton 4/8 does everything, it sharpens polishes and if you dull or buy dull razors you can fix them on it.
