    I can't believe you guys didn't bring up the Charnley Forrest...excellent finisher with sewing machine oil! I haven't tried a coti on oil...have to pick up another one now just to try it out.

    Please excuse my ignorance, but how is an oilstone any more different from a waterstone than two watersrones are from each other - aside from the oil vs. water part?

    Can't believe I've just read this.. Only just been doing a bit of work on my Filly and here's what I've been using.

    just remember folks, although coticules are talked about as non-porous and safe to use with oil.. some are slightly porous and will soak up oil or lather that is used on them.
