Thread: Retouching the edge

Hello Guys:

I want to give a little retouch to my blade edge, so the question is can i use the pyramid method to do this? starting at what point?

I only have the Norton 4/8 k and no finer grit.

That depends upon what shape the edge is in. You can start just with the 8K, using X strokes and see what comes of it and do your diagnosing from there.

I have had only two shaves with that razor and is ok just thinking in retouch because maybe the angle i used or the pass ATG made feel like if it wasnt too sharp, i know i have job to do with my angle and technique in general but i want to give a little retouch to the edge just to meke me fell more comfortable.

I'd stick with the 8K. If that doesn't work, then you go to the 4k for a mild bevel re-set.

how is that?? i don't see a location for him... like yours says virginia... mine says miami florida....

Thanks for your advice. BTW im in mexico, ACE knows that because of my nickname is Ham Radio Callsign and the prefix XE means mexico in ham radio.

I'm assuming he's basing his guess purely on the OP's name "Sergio Paredes", which would likely indicate a Latin decent, though obviously that is no guarantee of where he's currently living.
