Thanked: 8All is not lost
A few weeks ago my darling wife dropped my 6000 Jap Waterstone, smashed into a few pieces. I managed to buy another one. (I do have a 4000/8000 Nortons on order).
I was Skyping with our Mr Tuttle and of course asked a few questions about stones, lapping, slurry etc..
Well as it turns out I can use the broken stone to create slurry on my new stone. Jap waterstones need it apparently.
So last night I sanded the edges of both stones, (thanks for the tip Randy) and tried it out. A nice milky slurry and away I went. Lightyears of difference.
The stone before slurry was very slow, and now it polishes and sets up the edge brilliantly.
So a BIG THANKYOU RANDY.
