Thanked: 0In need in Colorado.
I would like to see if there is anyone here in Colorado, closer to colorado springs but not a big deal that does honing and could teach stropping. Just let me know.

We have quite a few members in CO, especially in the Denver area and someone in Castle Rock.

Hi Skelp!
I'm in the Denver area, but I'm no honer.... I'm a great stropper tho!! heheheh.
I haven't seen Logistics on in a while, but he is probably one of the best local honers. He did a razor for me at the meetup, my prized Henry's XX.
I'm looking for someone local as well, I need some help with learning to hone my own razors.
Have you checked out some of the stropping video's they have on here? Youtube also offers some great vid's for that as well. As well as a ton of Glenn honing on various stones.
Good luck bro!!!

Hi Skelp,
It has taken a couple years and a lot of passes on hones, but I have finally gotten all my razors shave sharp. Glens help at the Rocky Mountain Meet in July was a huge break through for me. I'm in Ft. Collins and not around very much, but if you PM me, we can exchange phone numbers.

Hi Travis!! Still using that beauty you honed up for me. It's one of my standards for shooting for a great edge!!
I managed to actually set a bevel finally yesterday. However, I did manage to totally mangle a cheek trying to test shave a dull razor. (DUH!!) I did get it right eventually and have gotten a couple of shaves on it as of today.
Thanks so much for the info on how to find you. I may have to ask a few minor questions as I go forward, but I think I made a breakthrough yesterday and I have to build on that.
Thanks again bro!!! Best always,
Mike-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --

I am up in northern Colorado. If you have more than one razor, I would suggest having a honemeister sharpen one so you have something to judge your own progress against. Also, be warned that you will more than likely nick your strop when first learning so do not use a high dollar strop at first.
If at all possible, please make sure and attend the Denver meet-up next year. You will learn so much in such a short time that you will not believe it.
Good luck
