    Default Oh the shame!

I've been str8 shaving for four years for two reasons; a closer shave and because it's cheaper than continuously replacing disposables. I sneered at 3 and 4 blade disposables until I got a free sample of a Gillette Fusion. With a 2 day beard it glided through as smoothly as silk; even after several shavings. My dovo pulls my beard. I thought it just needed touching up so I gave it about 30 passes on my chromium oxide treated paddle strop. It passed the arm hair test but still not a comfortable shave. Can anybody help me? Should I go back to the chromium oxide for another 10 or 15 passes?

When 30 passes of CrOx doesn't do it, it certainly sounds like it needs honing.

    +1.

If a touch up on the Crox isn't working, and that is what usually works for you....then it's time to hit the stones. I don't know what you have, so it will be a generic "start with your highest grit first", and see how 10 strokes works for you.

Strop it up and give it a test.
