Holy Smokes! Smile When You Shave!
Wow! I just test shaved my smiling junk store treasure... unbelievable. Totally smooth and zero irratation. What a great feeling being able to restore an edge back to it's former glory.
Thank You Guys for all the honing tips.

That's why I really enjoy my shaves. There's only one blade in my rotation that's a new purchase.

My first shave with a straight was with a smiley junk store razor that was incredible. I have only one new razor and I never use it, it's not as good as the oldies and it has no history

I still use my DOVO Bismarck but that's because even though I got it new, I have been honing it and maintaining it for a while now so I'm developing a sense of ownership over it. On top of that I can't dispute that it is a nice razor, fairly short blade (easy on the hard to reach spots) and it looks pimp.

Yea, my Dovo was my only new blade and it holds the same nostalgia.

I had only one new blade...I traded it for a vintage Eversharp fountain pen and pencil set. I use the pen and pencil a lot more than I ever used that Hen and Rooster razor! I'm sure there are many fine new straights available, but I prefer vintage.
Just another data point,
