I have had the same issues with that tape - I bought it by mistake - I usually get Scotch 3M Super 88. The 33 leaves a lot - I mean a lot - of very sticky residue compared to other tapes - I have used quite a few and can vouch for that! Sure, it comes off with oil, lighter fuel or similar, but it is another messy step that can be avoided.

I used three rolls of it before I rang 3M and asked about the tape - it is apparently supposed to be like this on purpose. The other thing I dislike about it is how poor its 'cling' is when there is the slightest hint of moisture on the blade. This doesn't faze the 88, but the 33 just rolls up - very annoying indeed. I still have two rolls of it left, along with 7 rolls of other tapes I got from DIY stores and a host more I bought online. I'm thinking of becoming an electrician to get it all used up...

    Regards,
    Neil
