Thanked: 5Nakayama Kiita Tomonagura
Hello all. I have learned much from reading posts here regarding jnats, particularly JimR. I will soon have a nice (hopefully) nakayama maruka kiita nishiji I splurged on. I will be using my naniwas up to 8k, then from there using this stone. I have one nagura, a mejiro. What should my process be? I could not find a koma nagura anywhere, but i have read JimR say this step is not necessary if you have a tomonagura. I do not have a tomonagura, and do not think i can purchase another of this same stone to produce a true tomonagura. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Will i get away with only the mejiro until dry; or mejiro, then only water? Or will I need a tomonagura? If so, what can I use as one?
With tomonagura, I guess what I am asking - this stone is (supposedly) an good finisher. If I use another, inferior stone to raise a slurry, doesnt this mean i will instead be honing with the tomongura? I do not want to use a diamond plate.
Thanks to all for the help so far.
