Careful with the curved end. My worst cut came from a razor that had a curved nose on it - it's my favorite razor, was and still is, but it bit me pretty good. If you go on a skew a little, that angle on the point will cut the razor pretty close to a slicing cut, and it'll be making a small fillet on some area on your face. BTDT.

No big deal if you're aware of it, though.

Wow. Never thought of that, and quite frankly the idea of it scares me a little bit. I would hate to get a "small fillet" cut. My current worst cut is one that I just call "The Nick" and that was bad enough.

I used the razor that cut me for months before I did it. If you're pulling it straight down, then you'll have no issues. In my case, it was a french tip razor that was sharpened around the curve just a little (and I didn't realize it) and it happened when I reached across my face with the razor and sort of pivot/fanned it to reach a spot. It went right in, but it was a clean cut and it healed fast because it was just a fillet in and not scooped out. Healed right back together.

A lot better than what was probably my worst shave nick, which I'll call the "bb scoop", a chunk almost perfectly half round out of my chin about the size of a BB when I was just starting to straight shave daily. Everyone probably has their stories, I guess. I dull the points on all of my razors, even if it's just half mm or a mm or so,so as not to repeat the fillet incident.
