Thanked: 459Careful with the curved end. My worst cut came from a razor that had a curved nose on it - it's my favorite razor, was and still is, but it bit me pretty good. If you go on a skew a little, that angle on the point will cut the razor pretty close to a slicing cut, and it'll be making a small fillet on some area on your face. BTDT.
No big deal if you're aware of it, though.

Thanked: 459I used the razor that cut me for months before I did it. If you're pulling it straight down, then you'll have no issues. In my case, it was a french tip razor that was sharpened around the curve just a little (and I didn't realize it) and it happened when I reached across my face with the razor and sort of pivot/fanned it to reach a spot. It went right in, but it was a clean cut and it healed fast because it was just a fillet in and not scooped out. Healed right back together.
A lot better than what was probably my worst shave nick, which I'll call the "bb scoop", a chunk almost perfectly half round out of my chin about the size of a BB when I was just starting to straight shave daily. Everyone probably has their stories, I guess. I dull the points on all of my razors, even if it's just half mm or a mm or so,so as not to repeat the fillet incident.
