    Default Microscope Stage

I used double sided tape to put a refrigerator on the stage of my little microscope. So far I have been happy with the way it works. It is a very weak magnet and will not hold big razors but it really helps me hold the blade steady while under the objective.

I will see how it holds up over time.

edit: That would be a refrigerator magnet taped to the stage

    That's not a flashlight in the picture. It's Charlie's homemade shrink-ray.

    Good idea, btw.

Stay just the way you are Charlie. Good idea, btw.

Actually I do like the idea of strapping a small beer fridge to the microscope - I think the edge would look better and better with more and more beer. We could even introduce a new test - the can o' beer test: the least number of cans drunk until the edge looks awesome. Would need to be calibrated to the individual of course, and perhaps a standard can of beer would have to be used - may I suggest Fosters?

My wife just caught me digging through the garbage can. You Know how it goes. I just tossed some today. Sounds like a good Idea but after her look I will have to wait until I get another, or until she goes to bed!

Great idea! If you want a very powerful magnet find an old computer that's dead and going to be recycled or thrown away and tear it apart and look in the hard drive, there you will find a very powerful magnet!!!!

My son is the one who taught me about the magnet and he was told by a teacher at school. I've just taken the one that he had found in an old computer and snapped it on the end of my DMT 325 and picked it up. Some shaking wouldn't make it let go! The DMT weighs 2 pounds 15 ounces!! (Can you say 'Overkill')?

Good Luck! Thanks again for a great idea!

Your ingenuity never ceases to amaze me Charlie. I am guessing that refrigerator magnet probably won’t scratch your razor either. Best Regards Ken
