I just did some honing of 3 of my own use razor's and went 60/60 and I "Felt" that they were all much "Tackier" to my thumb afterwards, this is totally "Subjective", of course.

Have a great shave on me!!! tinkersd of SRP

I only ever use leather post-honing.

I like using linen first then leather after honing. I'm convinced that the coated canvas on my Illinois 327 strop acts like a very, very fine abrasive. It's got a nice light grey tint to it now, anyhow. Since I'm a bloke who likes to play this game "old school" my hone is a hard Arkansas stone. I find that the canvas adds a lot of "shaving goodness" to the edge before smoothing it with the leather.

Once you understand what linen does there is no need for linen off the hone, for most people. But, examples like using are hard Ark are perfect. You can always use it if you like. Sometimes an edge just needs a touch more work.
