Default Honing service in Halifax, NS?

Bought a straight razor not too long ago, but it needs to be honed and I am not nearly confident enough to do it myself. So if anyone knows anyone in Halifax or Vancouver Island, it would be much appreciated.

Check out the 'Classifieds' section at the top of this page under 'Member Services'. Many options there. Maxi is a fellow Canadian and does great work.

There is a fellow in the valley advertising on Kijiji, but I don't anything about him or his work.

Thats me, Just trying to gain experience on the hones.
I'm proficient enough to shave quite comfortably off the edges that I put on my 5 razors.
I've honed locally and haven't had any complaints either.
I'm SURE the honemeisters on this site can put a much keener edge on a razor than me.

However, if you want to keep it local, I am here.

If you want it sharpened, PM me, all I ask is that you pay the postage....or drop it off, we're not that far away
    from each other.

+1 for Maxi. Ironsidegnr, good to see some other bluenosers on here. I am just getting set up with some hones myself. So far my results have been "inconsistant" but I'll keep working on it.

I'm still inconsistant, I usually have to touch up a blade one or two times after I think I've finished it off.

Right now, I'm just using a naniwa 1K, 5K and Coticule for finishing with a Crox Balsa strop and then some leather.

I have an 8K naniwa on the way here, should be in next week! I'm excited to see what kind of results I'll get and how it will compare to the 2x5 coti
    that I'm currently using.

I think it'll be better/easier with a much wider Naniwa, I still have a hard time keeping my blades flat on that narrow coti, but it's getting better!
Let me know if you're ever passing through the valley. We could sit down and share some experience.

    Cheers!

I have a Norton 4000/8000, 325 DMT lapping plate and an unknown old coarse/fine stone. I also have a felt/ leather strop. I travel quite a bit in the summer by motorcycle. If I am heading your way I'll send you a PM. Take care.

I just love the fact you're looking for someone in either Halifax of Vancouver Island and nothing in between.

It's great to see so many others learning the honing art up here in the Great White North.
