    Default No more honing

I was looking around and found this collectors site with a razor sharpener.

Now all I need is one that you can fit a straight in and I can throw away that norton!

My father-in-law has a couple of those - apparently quite useful little gadgets.

I bought a stone (in Maleny) from an antique store that purported to hone and strop in one motion, so I naively figured it might be useful for straights. Basically, its a 2 inch by 4 inch stone with a V carved out of the top. Couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get the straight in there until someone told me it was for safety razor blades (how embarrassment!)

AFAIK these sharpeners are for DE blades not straights!

This was at the beginning of the year. Do you know the antique shop about 2kms up the road toward Montville? I bought the stone there - they had a couple of straights too (slightly overpriced, IMHO, at least compared to ebay).
