Well, after my last post about slowing down and really learning about my coti, this is going to sound ridiculous....but...

I got my new Naniwa 8k in the mail today, so of course I couldn't wait to use it.

I lapped it on my DMT 220 (yes I know it's course) and beveled the edges.

I did the same thing to all 5 or my razors:
Built a moderate slurry, worked in sets of 20 x-strokes and diluted down to clear water.

For the first time, I didn't strop on pasted linen, I finally got a clean piece of soft strapping to try out and it was great! 40 laps on that followed by 100 on leather.

I have to say, I LOVE the feel and feedback of my coti. The Naniwa felt 'smooshy' and sort of sticky....however, I cant argue with results.

I now have one bald arm, and 2 LARGE bald spots on my legs. All 3 razors were POPPING hair off of me at about 1/2 inch from the skin.
My wife got mad at me because I wouldn't stop 'borrowing' her hair to test all my blades

Anyways, I can't wait to try these blades out tomorrow.....and buy a Naniwa 12k...
