Thread: How many laps

I realize that it depends on the razor and technique, but if you use the Norton 4000/8000 hone, approximately how many laps might you need when you move to a Shapton 16k hone. I'm not looking for an exact number but only a ball-park estimate.

When you're done on the 8k shave test to make sure you're done. If it shaves well move to the 16k. I think Lynn would say do 5 to 10 and try it. I tend to overdo stuff but the 5 to 10 and try would be what I would say to do.
