    Default Bowed blade.

    Gents,

I was going to hone a razor for someone tonight. It was an old Boker King Cutter.
I really wanted to get this thing ready, but the blade was bowed and had a SLIGHT frown.

On on side, only the centre of the blade would contact the stone. I could get decent contact
    with a rolling x-stroke though.

On the other side though, only the heel and toe of the blade would contact the hone. I couldn't
get the centre to contact the hone at all, even with heavy rolling strokes?

Sorry guys, I didn't get pics , I know that would have helped.

Is there some other technique that I could try out, or just admit defeat???

The first thing you need to do is to put a smile on that puppy Then you might be lucky and get better contact.

Had the same problem recently, I was able to hone mine on a narrow coticule.
