Tis lol... tis a fun sport at that.

I have started to settle down quite a bit now that I have enough razors that'll give me what I want when I need it. The whole puzzle aspect is quickly becoming the best part of the whole experience for me now. But yeah "Frustrationland" lol was a place I resided for a while there and I think only experience (and an open mind) pulls you out of that land.

Of course posting here and getting reassuring feedback is an enormous help too!! That's not to be taken for granted me thinks.

But heck, that's the best part about straights. It was when I started to hold my razor loosely or rather lightly, that I started to get my best shaves! That took forever and was counter intuitive at the time - to this day I learn something new every shave.

That you still need to "collect" the puzzle peices now and again Lynn is very reassuring to me. Don't get me wrong when I say this as DE's are great, but the last time I pulled mine out it was... just boring. The challenges of a straight really (though frustrating at times) make the sport that much better. Easy sometimes is just that.

That all said - I can only imagine that now, for you lol, one of the biggest issues when you hone others razors is if you should have tinkered more LOL!! That would keep me up at nights lol!!

That is the fun of it for me also, dialing in an edge, then finding out you probably need one more conservitive Pyramid to get just were you want to be, to get, that Just So feeling when you go for the BBS shave we all deserve!!
It also takes a while to have the confidence to say without to much fear that you might have a bad shaving razor on your hands, and maybe just maybe more honing won't make it any better, then just put that one aside and stick with the other umpteen razors that do work well in a persons rotation.
    Yours truly, tinkersd

I have been there many times, and some of these beasts seem invincible, it is a blessed day when when you conquer that first one. Luckily there are many more challenges and victories to come. Enjoy the shave, it is well earned!
