Thanked: 0"Touching-up"
Is an 8K Norton too much for weekly/bi-weekly maintenance (on a razor used everyday) as opposed to 0.5 micron diamond paste? If not how many passes should I start out with.

Thanked: 13245The Norton or the Diamond or both is fine
Start with the least and only add more if needed I would start with 20 super smooth super light laps on the Norton

This topic raises a question.
Suppose that someone has used a perfectly honed razor for about fifteen times. After that the shaves aren't that well, razor burns appear and the skin gets painful.
If you have a strop prepared with DOVO 3 micron red paste, how many passes would you recommend for a touch up? What other details should I take notice of?

Well it depends on your experiance with the tried and true "Test's" methods. ie: thumb pad test[tpt] hanging hair test[hht] and the every popular 'shave test' [tst]
Your should try a few well executed strokes and do whichever test you comfortable with and trust, the shave test is reccomened. If it is still pulling and skipping over some of your beard, do more strokes and repeat until the edge is were you want it, not the easiest advice to follow, takes a bit of time before all the experimentation is finished, but the above does work, if you still don't get the edge you want there is always just sending back to the honmiester that originally honed the razor for a touch up.
That is the just my opinion and somtimes every I don't tak my advice!!!
