Thread: Screeching: Bad?

I dimly remember experiencing this noise with a razor. Not well enough to 'know' it really happened or why. I'm thinking it might have been when doing the 'Livi' back and forth bevel setting strokes and hitting the stabilizers against the hone ..... or maybe not enough water ? So long ago and infrequent that I can't be sure.

I get the sound, more of a high pitch whistle, when Honing an extra hollow on my translucent Arkie. Something about the thin steel and hard stone really makes it sing.
